Born Pretty Store Holographic Starry Sky Glitter Nail Foil Review

In this post, I will be reviewing the holographic starry sky glitter nail foil from BornPrettyStore. This nail foil caught my eye because it looked different than any of the foils I have tried so far. Here is what it looks like:
It is a long strip of foil, rolled up and in this plastic container.

I kept looking at this foil, not sure exactly which direction I wanted to go with it. Not having much for ideas, I started out painting my nails with 4 different colors. I wanted to get an idea of how it looked. On my index finger, I used Sinful Colors SinfulShine Most Sinful. On my middle finger, I used Funky Fingers Gesso (my go-to white). On my ring finger, I used Sinful Colors Yellow Spotted. And on my pinkie, I used Sinful Colors GoGo Girl. Before I chose my colors, I did test a bit of the foil out on a fake nail with patches of a couple different colors, to see the basic pattern of the foil. As I chose my colors, I was trying to think of colors that I haven't seen in a holographic form. I topped all my nails off with Seche Vite. Once that was dry, I used Orly Bonder (I realized that after these few years I have been into nail art, I still have never invested in nail foil glue) and painted it over my top coat, one nail at a time. I waited until it was dry, but still had the slight stickiness to it. Then, I put the foil on my nail. I did test a few different top coats over this foil and it all dulls the holo, unfortunately. I never tried gel!!! How did I not think of that?!? Anyway, here is what the foil looks like over my test colors:
Oh my goodness! I absolutely love how it looks over white!!!!

Since I liked the foil over white the most, I peeled those off, and got ready for my design. I painted my nails with Funky Fingers Gesso, and topped it off with Seche Vite. Once that was dry, I followed the same steps as above, using the Orly Bonder. I got the foil on all my nails and I can't believe it! I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE!!!! What was I thinking? Or not thinking haha. Anyway, I am not a huge fan of white nails, so they needed art! I used Born Pretty Store plate BP-100 (you can find it here). I used Mundo de Unas stamping polish in Mexican Pink and Lavander and did a gradient stamp. I have only tried this one other time, and it was less than successful. Here is my final look:
These are so pretty! I love how they turned out! Here is a closer look:
These look so delicate and pretty. And my stamping gradient was a success!! Double bonus :D

Overall, this holographic starry sky foil is very pretty. I feel like it is very versatile; the options are almost endless with it! If you are like me and love anything holographic, you should definitely get this foil. It is VERY easy to use. Like I mentioned above, I have never invested in nail glue. The only tip I have with using Orly Bonder is to make sure it is fully dry or the foil will pull bits of your polish off your nail (don't ask how I know, haha). Otherwise, it was very easy. If you miss a spot with the foil, you can go back over it with the foil again. And the container has a ton in it. It doesn't take as much as you would think to have full coverage on your nails (unless they are super long!!), so you will get many different uses out of one container. You can find these decals on the BornPrettyStore website, here. They also have tons of other great nail art supplies. Don't forget to use my coupon code for 10% off any regular priced items.

Born Pretty Store Clear Multi-Size Flat Bottom Rhinestones Review

In this post, I will be reviewing some clear flat-bottom rhinestones from BornPrettyStore. These rhinestones come in multiple sizes: 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm. As soon as I saw these rhinestones, I knew exactly what I wanted to try. First, here are the rhinestones:
Even though they are clear, they reflect some blues and greens, which is what made me like these so much. They are different that the plain colored rhinestones.

To start off my design, I painted all my nails except my ring finger with Sinful Colors Mesmerize. On my ring finger, I wasn't sure what color to use, so I decided on Sinful Colors Mad About Hue (which is a light purple/lavender color). I topped this off with Seche Vite. Once my nails were nice and dry, I used NYC Matte Me Crazy topcoat, to matte the dark purple. On my ring finger, where I am going to put the rhinestones, I got the idea to use gel topcoat so that I could easily move the rhinestones where I wanted them and not have to worry about my polish drying in the process. I applied one coat of regular gel topcoat, and used an orange stick dipping the end in a little bit of water to pick up the rhinestones and place them where I wanted them. I didn't realize how long it took to put all these little stones all over your nail. Once I got to the tip, I did have a bit of trouble getting full coverage with the rhinestones. Once I was happy with my placement, I cured my gel top coat for the recommended time. Here is how it looks:
Overall, I am pretty happy with how this turned out. I think with a little more practice, I will be able to get it down much easier. After I finished this design and took my pictures, I wish I would have put one stone on each of the dark purple nails. I think that would have tied the design together a bit better.

Here is a macro shot of these beauties on my nail:
I love how many colors these rhinestones pick up. They are very pretty!!!

Overall, I think these rhinestones are great. Having multiple sizes in one container is very handy; I like not having to buy multiple sizes separately. I love the color of these stones. They are very unique and different than the average rhinestones. And I didn't have any trouble with placement, other than inexperience. I would recommend these rhinestones to anyone who uses any type of rhinestones! I know they are very different than any other stones I have in my collection. You can find these rhinestones on the BornPrettyStore website, here. They also have tons of other great nail art supplies. Born Pretty Store Black & White Flower Water Decal Review

In this post, I will be reviewing the black & white flower pattern water decals from BornPrettyStore. This item comes with 3 sheets, each a different flower pattern. I have enjoyed using water decals in the past, so let's see how this brand compares. First, why don't we take a look at the 3 designs I received.

These decals all have such pretty flowers on them. I don't know where to start first!

For my first design, I started out with my peel off base coat. Next, I painted my pinky and index finger with 3 coats of Sinful Colors GoGo Girl. It is about the truest, brightest red I could find in my collection. I was going for the classic red-nail look on those 2 fingers. On my middle 2 fingers, I used Funky Fingers Gesso. Then, I topped all my nails off with one coat of Seche Vite. Once that was very dry, I cut out 2 decals from design #08.

These decals are so easy to use. After I cut out my decals I needed, I peeled off the plastic protective cover, and dropped one decal in a small glass of room temperature water. I waited about a minute or so, pulled the decal out of the water with my tweezers gently, and using my fingers, just slid the decal off the paper backing. I gently placed it down on my nail, and used my fingers to kind of position it where I wanted it. I put my blow dryer on it, on low heat, for only about 5 seconds. The reason I only did 5 seconds was to get the decal softer, and a bit more pliable. Next, I used my index finger and thumb to stretch the decal slightly, so it would lay flat on the tip of my nail. Some of my nails are pretty curved, so this seemed to really help with getting the decal flat, and without wrinkles. I turned the blow dryer on again for another 20-25 seconds. Then, I used my clean up brush (I use an ELF concealer brush) dipped in pure acetone to clean up the excess decal. It cleans up super easy. Last, I sealed the decal in with one more coat of Seche Vite. And I repeated the process for the next nail. Here is my final look!
I love how simple, yet pretty these look.

For the next decal, I wanted something that wasn't quite so simple. I thought I would do a gradient. Those can be a lot of fun. For my gradient, I chose to use Sinful Colors Pistache and Jolt. I finished off my gradient with one coat of Seche Vite. The colors I chose are both pretty bright colors. Here's how my gradient turned out.
It is such a good feeling when your gradient turns out LOL

Now that I am happy with my gradient and my top coat is nice and dry, it is time for decals. I cut out my decals from design #29, and using the process above, did one nail at a time. Once all my decals were in place and cleaned up, I sealed them in with one more coat of Seche Vite. Here is the final look:
I love these sooo much!!

With one design left, I was stumped as to what to start out with for my base color. I was so happy with the way my gradient turned out, I got an idea. I had only tried a radial gradient with success once. So let's give it a shot. I chose to use Funky Fingers Gesso for the center, Sinful Colors Cream Soda for my first ring, and Sinful Colors Pink Poppys for the outer color. I started off painting one coat of Gesso on my nails before I started sponging the gradient on. I think I ended up sponging on 4 or 5 coats before I was happy with the gradient. I cleaned up and topped it off with Seche Vite. Here's how it looks so far:
Other than the center of my gradient being slightly off to the side of my nails, I am happy with them so far! Another successful radial gradient, YAY!!

I cut out 4 decals from design #32, and followed the steps above once again. Once all the decals were on and cleaned up, I sealed them in with one more coat of Seche Vite. Here is the final look:
I love how my ring and pinky finger decals lined the center of the flower up with the center of my gradient.

I love how this design turned out as well. I think it is very cool, and definitely different than anything else I have done recently.

Overall, I really like the Nicole Diary brand of decals. They seem like they could be possibly thinner than the ones I have tried in the past. While I have never used any that I couldn't work with, these ones seemed extra easy to get them to wrap around my curved nails. If you have curved nails and follow the steps I have listed above, with a bit of maneuvering and pulling, you should easily be able to get these decals to lay flat without any wrinkles or creases. I highly recommend these decals! There are so many designs to choose from, and they are all beautiful! You can find these decals on the BornPrettyStore website, here. They also have tons of other great nail art supplies. Don't forget to use my coupon code for 10% off any regular priced items.

Born Pretty Store Holographic Super Shine Nail Polish Review

In this post, I will be reviewing some Holographic Super Shine Nail Polish from BornPrettyStore. I absolutely love holographic polish, so I thought this polish definitely needed some attention. Let's take a look at the bottle!

My camera was having a hard time picking up the rainbow of sparkling color

Normally, when I use holographic polish, or any "favorite" polish, I will use a color-matching undie so I don't use as much of my "favorite" polish. However, for this, I wanted to see how opaque this polish was. I started off with a peel off base coat, like I always do. Then, I painted one thin coat on each of my nails. I took a picture at this point, to show the opacity.

Next, I painted another thin coat on all my nails. Here is 2 thin coats.

The coverage was pretty opaque, but I could still see my tips in a couple areas. Let's try one more coat and see how that looks.

That is perfect. And it is absolutely beautiful! The holo is stunning in this polish. I finished this off with one coat of Seche Vite. I was so excited to see what this looked like in the sun. Unfortunately, it was fairly overcast. :(

I still tried to get a good shot outside. With such little sun, you can barely see the holo. That is pretty typical of any holographic polish (and pigment).

I usually do nail art of some kind, but with holographic polishes, I really have a hard time putting art over it. I love the rainbow effect, and I hate covering it up! So I didn't do any nail art this time.

I wore this polish for a couple days, and it wore great. I didn't have any spots that chipped, and my tips didn't show any wear at all. I am very impressed with this polish!!

Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this polish to anyone that loves holographic. Or glitter. Or nail polish LOL. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this polish at all. You can find this holographic polish on the BornPrettyStore website here. This polish comes in 11 different colors. The color I chose was #2. They also have tons of other great nail art supplies. Don't forget to use my coupon code for 10% off any regular priced items.
